This Virginia hybrid has genetic traits for the production of more leaves per plant compared to such traditional cultivars as K326. PVH2404 is resistant to PVY, TMV and nematodes M. incognita races 1 and 3, and moderately tolerant to bacterial wilt.
Topping should be carried out as soon as the plants achieve the desired number of leaves, whilst the amount of fertilizer should be adjusted according to the number of leaves per plant. The bigger the number of leaves, the more fertilizer is required.
High productivity, good holding ability, easy curing and excellent quality are some of the additional traits that promote this hybrid.
